Marli Renfro

One of the most memorable scenes in horror cinema history features, MARLI RENFRO, in the original 1960 version of Psycho... and she is headed to Puyallup.

Marli Renfro was a former showgirl, glamour model, Playboy cover girl, and actress known for her uncredited role as the body double for Janet Leigh in the infamous shower scene of Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 thriller Psycho. A free-spirited nudist and one of the original Playboy Bunnies, Renfro was hired for around $500 to perform the nude shots in the sequence—widely regarded as one of cinema's most iconic moments, featuring over 50 rapid cuts in three minutes—while Leigh appeared only in close-ups showing her face.

Her involvement helped Hitchcock push boundaries with implied nudity and violence, though she later reflected on the experience as "doing something famous" rather than achieving personal stardom. She the subject of the book, ‘The Girl in Alfred Hitchcock's Shower’.
