Please welcome horror icon Linda Blair to the Washington State Horror Con lineup in Puyallup from October 24th through the 26th.
Her breakthrough came at age 13 with her performance of Regan MacNeil in The Exorcist (1973), a role that earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress and a Golden Globe win. The film’s chilling depiction of demonic possession made Blair a household name and cemented her as a horror icon.
She reprised the role in Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). Blair’s early career also included non-horror roles, like the TV movie Born Innocent (1974), showcasing her versatility as a young actress navigating intense dramatic parts.
Blair’s horror legacy extends beyond The Exorcist. She starred in Hell Night (1981), a slasher film where she played a college student hunted during a fraternity prank, further solidifying her scream queen status. Her other horror credits include The Blair Witch Project precursor Curse of the Blair Witch (1999, fictional documentary) and Savage Streets (1984), blending horror with vigilante thriller elements.
Blair also appeared in Repossessed (1990), a comedic take on The Exorcist, showing her willingness to embrace her horror roots with humor. She also made a cameo appearance in Scream (1996) as a reporter hounding Sidney. ("People want to know!")
Beyond horror, Blair’s career spans diverse roles in TV and film, including Roller Boogie (1979) and guest spots on shows like Fantasy Island and Murder, She Wrote. Linda was the host of Scariest Places on Earth from 2001 to 2006.
Linda focuses much of her time on animal rights activism, founding the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation. It purpose is to alleviate suffering, while rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abused, neglected and abandoned animals.
Meet Linda Blair all weekend at the Washington State Horror Con from October 24th through the 26th. She will be signing autographs, taking photos, speaking on a panel at the show, and more.
