Jeremy Davies played Terrence Blake, the alcoholic father of the kidnapped children, in Scott Derrickson’s The Black Phone (2021) and reprised the part in Black Phone 2 (2025). He first appeared in horror as Private Toffler in Antonia Bird’s 1999 cannibal western Ravenous, opposite Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle. His other horror credits include The House That Jack Built (2018) and Dark Harvest (2023).

His best-known film role is Corporal Timothy Upham, the translator in Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan (1998), with Tom Hanks. Davies also played storm chaser Laurence in Jan de Bont’s Twister (1996). Davies has two notable television film roles as Jedadiah Schultz in The Laramie Project, and the memorable serial killer Charles Manson in Helter Skelter.

On television, he portrayed physicist Daniel Faraday in 23 episodes of Lost (2008–2010) and won the 2012 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series as Dickie Bennett on Justified (2011–2015). His additional credits include Gene DeBruin in Rescue Dawn (2006) and Snow in Steven Soderbergh’s Solaris (2002). He was Malcolm Dreyfuss in season 4 of Sleepy Hollow (2017).

Jeremy provides the voice of The Stranger / Baldur in the hit video game God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök (2022).

Davies made his feature debut as Ray Aibelli in Spanking the Monkey (1994), which brought an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. He has since appeared in independent films such as Secretary (2002) and Dogville (2003) as well as guest roles on American Gods, The Rookie, FBI, and the Arrowverse.
