Jeffrey Combs

Jeffrey Combs is best known for playing Herbert West in Re-Animator (1985) and its sequels, Bride of Re-Animator (1990) and Beyond Re-Animator (2003). The films, drawn from H. P. Lovecraft and directed or produced by Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna, cast him as a medical student experimenting with a reagent that restores life. He returned to Lovecraft material in From Beyond (1986), as Dr. Crawford Tillinghast, and in Necronomicon (1993), where he played Lovecraft himself. Other Gordon collaborations include The Pit and the Pendulum (1991) and Castle Freak (1995).

His additional horror credits include Milton Dammers in The Frighteners (1996), I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), and Dr. Richard Benjamin Vannacutt in the 1999 remake of House on Haunted Hill. He later appeared in Would You Rather (2012) and has worked regularly in independent horror and science fiction roles on tv and movies.

We can't forget about Star Trek! Combs was a frequent presence in Star Trek. On Deep Space Nine he played the Vorta Weyoun and the Ferengi Brunt, sometimes in the same episode. On Enterprise he played the Andorian commander Shran.
