Fran Kranz

Fran Kranz is recognized for his performance as Marty Mikalski in the 2012 horror film The Cabin in the Woods, directed by Drew Goddard. He has also appeared in other horror genre films such as Rise: Blood Hunter (2007) and Bloodsucking Bastards (2015).

On television, Kranz starred as Topher Brink across two seasons of Joss Whedon’s science-fiction series Dollhouse. His film credits include Claudio in Whedon’s 2012 adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing, along with roles in The Dark Tower, Jungleland, Donnie Darko, Training Day, and The Village.

In 2021, Fran wrote, produced, and directed the movie Mass starring Reed Birney, Jason Isaacs, and Martha Plimpton and received widespread acclaim and awards for screenplay, acting, and directing.

He has worked on Broadway, appearing as Bernard in the 2012 revival of Death of a Salesman and in You Can’t Take It with You. His additional television work includes the role of Russ Morash in the series Julia.
